Where Has Our Summer Gone?

I can't believe how fast this summer has gone! We spend most of our days between the pool and baseball games. We are taking a trip to Colorado in a couple of weeks and once we are back it will be time for back to school shopping. Grant is the only one in our family counting down the days. He got his new backpack and lunch bag so now he is ready to start Kindergarten. He made me count down the days left until school starts -- only about 35 left! It will be so weird having only Evan in Daycare this year!

Geo-Trax have been the toy to get for the boys lately. With Christmas and Evan's birthday, we have almost half of our toy room devoted to planes, trains, and automobiles!

The Nelson Superheros

Evan and Grant got new capes that my sister's Mother-in-Law made. They were so excited to wear them and show them off. Our house is a little noisier with Superman and Batman running around saving the day!

Christmas 2008

We were able to spend lots of time with our family this Holiday Season. We were in Grand Island for Christmas Eve and luckily Santa found his way to Rick and She-She's house! We had a great time seeing Michelle and P.J. again and were even able to spend quality time with them at Skate Island. The boys had never roller skated before and let me tell you it was an experience. Then we headed back to Lincoln for Christmas Day with the Nelson side. Two days later we were busy hosting an 8th birthday party for Easton. And know as I sit here writing this, we are heading back to school already! The time flew by , but was so fun and enjoyable!

Fall Update

Things have started to settle down a bit at our house since football and soccer season have ended. Luckily we have the month of November open before basketball starts. Evan and Grant are enjoying spending their days with their new Daycare Lady (Cindy) and are learning so much! There is not doubt in my mind that Grant will be more than ready for Kindergarten thanks to all that Cindy is doing with him during the day. Some days he even shocks me by how much he already knows! Easton is enjoying 2nd grade and even gets to be in my classroom each day for Math. He thinks it is cool to have his mom for a teacher. We will see if he still feels that way in a few more years! First Day of School

Everyone has sort of gotten into a school routine. Evan and Grant are enjoying their new daycare/preschool and Easton thinks Second Grade is good. He says that he likes seeing his mom quite a bit during the day. We will see if he still says that after a few weeks of school!

Tennessee Trip

We were lucky enough to be able to spend a few days this summer visiting Michelle and P.J. They had lots of fun things planned for us (canoing, riverboat cruise, parade, swimming, hiking, shopping) plus fed us well too! The boys had a blast and keep talking about all the fun things we did at Moe and P.J.'s. I just had a great time getting to visit with my sister!

The Underwear Heads

Grant turns 4!

We celebrated Grant's 4th birthday with family at our house. Grant chose a Cars-themed pizza party complete with tatoos for everyone. Needless to say, a lot of his gifts were Cars things and he was spoiled as usual!

Easton's Soccer Season

Easton has enjoyed playing soccer this Spring. His team didn't win too many games but they showed tons of improvement as the season went on. He is already looking forward to giving it another shot this Fall. But for now... its on to Baseball!

Evan turns 2!

Evan turned 2 years old on February 24th. We celebrated with family at our house. The theme was Elmo as you can probably tell by the pictures. He got lots of new toys and is doing a nice job of sharing them with his big brothers.

Big Boy Beds

Well, its official. . . the Nelson household no longer uses a baby crib anymore. We switched everyone over to their new beds this weekend. Evan now has Grant's twin bed. Grant sleeps in Easton's captains bed. And Easton got a full size bed. Evan loves to sneak out of his bed every chance he gets. But once he is good and tired, he stays in place for the night. We thought we would share some pictures of the boys in their new sleeping quarters. Enjoy!

Sledding Fun

Since we had Monday off of school, we all headed to the hill by Easton's school to do some sledding. Evan and Grant had a great time until they took a spill and ended up with a mouthful of snow. At that point, they were ready to go home!

Evan's Black Eye

Evan ran into the edge of an entertainment center at Daycare last Monday and he looked like Rocky when it was all said and done. It swelled up quite a bit and then has been turning every color of the rainbow as it is healing. I am so shocked we haven't been in the emergency room yet with him!

Family Update

It seems like everyone else has started a blog spot, so we thought we'd give it a try. We hope to be able to keep everyone updated on the boys and share pictures more often. The 3 boys keep us very busy these days. Easton just turned 7 and is a first grader. Grant will be 4 in May and can't wait to start Preschool next year. Evan will be 2 in a month and the "terrible twos" have already kicked in!
